TroubleshootingWhat can I do if I am experiencing some static? Check the battery levels of the Receivers and the Transmitter. Reception will suffer if either is running low on battery. We recommend charging your Mobile Ear Receivers and Transmitter at the end of the day. Both can be hooked up to the charger for long periods of time without overcharging. Always turn the Receivers and Transmitter OFF when charging. Check for nearby fluorescent lighting or whether there is any direct sunlight coming into the room, both of which can cause static. Move the fluorescent lighting away or close the shades on your windows. Check to be sure that the Transmitter is less than 45 feet from the Receivers and within the 900 square foot coverage. Also make sure that the Transmitter is not facing a large window. This may be interfering with the Receiver’s reception. What can I do if I'm not receiving any sound?Check the battery levels of the Receivers and the Transmitter. We recommend charging your Mobile Ear Receivers and Transmitter at the end of the day. Both can be hooked up to the charger for long periods of time without overcharging. Always turn the Receivers and Transmitter OFF when charging. Check that the Audio Cable is plugged into the Audio Out ports on the back of your TV. If your TV does not have Audio Out ports, simply place the Transmitter next to the TV speaker and check that the TV volume is high enough to be picked up by the Transmitter microphone. What if I am hearing a slight buzzing sound. If you are hearing a slight buzzing sound, remove the Audio Cable, turn your TV volume low, and place your Transmitter near the TV speaker (LEDs facing you) in order to listen to the TV with the volume turned low. How do I adjust the volume on my Mobile Ear Receivers?Simply turn the volume wheel on each Mobile Ear Receiver to adjust the volume comfortably to fit each ear. This is also how you turn the Receiver on and off. Which TV ports should I plug my Audio Cable and Transmitter into?If your TV has ports in the front and back of the TV, always plug your Mobile Ear into the back of the TV. Front ports are always Audio Input ports, and to properly use Mobile Ear you must plug into the Audio Out ports in the back of the TV. If your TV has only one Audio Out port in the back, simply plug the red end of the Audio Cable into this single Out port and leave the black end of the cable unplugged. If your TV only has three ports in the back of your TV, these are usually Audio Input ports, and you will not be able to connect your Transmitter to the TV. Instead, turn your TV volume low, and place your Transmitter near the TV speaker (LEDs facing you) in order to listen to the TV with the volume turned low. If your TV has five or more Audio ports in the back of the TV, the Audio Out ports should be clearly labeled Out. Plug your Audio Cable only into the Audio Out ports on the back of your TV. What if I have a plasma TV?Certain Plasma TVs can interfere with the use of Mobile Ears. There is a field of disturbance that is usually less than five feet in front of the plasma screen. You will need to move Mobile Ears outside this area of disturbance. If you are experiencing static, move the Transmitter as far to the side of your TV as the cable allows and make sure the 5 LEDs are still pointed toward where you will be sitting as you watch TV. How is the Variable Output (VAR) and Fixed Output different on my TV?
